Majlinda Angoni of the Socialist Party, will try to turn history into a municipality that for three decades has chosen to be run only by the right.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The 61-year-old, who owns several businesses, comes from civil society. A few days after the official candidacy, Angoni resigned as prefect of Shkodra.<\/p>\n
The Socialist Party has taken the battle for Shkodra seriously, engaging alongside candidate Angoni ministers and important exponents of the majority. Damian Gjiknuri, Etilda Gjonaj and Olta Xha\u00e7ka have been appointed to follow and support Ms. Angoni’s campaign in Shkodra. So, a clearly unequal campaign that sees the Foreign Minister strongly engaged in a race where the Democrats find themselves divided in two between Lulzim Basha and Sali Berisha’s rostrum.<\/p>\n
“I feel really honored and privileged to have been appointed by the Socialist Party to work in Shkodra and to support this campaign, and together with you Majlinda” said Olta Xha\u00e7ka, Minister of Defense<\/p>\n
But it is not only the party she represents who is campaigning for Majlinda Angoni. The Democratic Party has denounced through a video that another “non grata” is campaigning for the leftist candidate like Tom Doshi. An exponent who is officially out of the coalition with the Socialist Party, but the shadow of his influence in the administration and institutions of Shkodra has never faded.<\/p>\n
The left-wing candidate in Shkodra was the only one of the three candidates for mayor who agreed to list for Top story what she promises with this truncated mandate.
“My priorities are cleaning the city, developing tourism, more opportunities for young people,” said Majlinda Agoni,

“I am telling you one thing to the citizens of Shkodra to keep a note, Shkodra has had support, but what support Shkodra will have is not compared to Shkodra with the support and investments that Shkodra will have after a woman like Majlinda sits in the municipal office.<\/p>\n
“I say yes, there will be no lack of support if Majlinda Angoni won” said Damian Gjiknuri, General Secretary, SP<\/p>\n
Majlinda Angoni comes from private business. Referring to the statement she submitted to the High Inspectorate of Declaration of Assets, she owns some properties of considerable value such as land, apartments, warehouses, etc. In 2020, Majlinda Angoni has declared about 21 thousand square meters of forest, 6 thousand square meters of construction land worth thousands of euros, property which is shared 50% by 50 with her husband.
She also owns several warehouses, two apartments with 50%. Her husband also owns a long list of real estate properties. Majlinda Angoni was the owner of the company “Venice Art” which she sold to her husband when she took office as prefect. She has declared the purchase of a luxury golf type vehicle for 27 thousand euros.<\/p>\n
