Under pressure from the Kremlin, one of Russia’s last independent television stations, Rain, was forced to shut down indefinitely. The reason for this move was his realistic reports on the war in Ukraine. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Russia’s telecommunications regulator has already blocked Rain TV, threatening and accusing it of “inciting extremism, misinforming Russian citizens, and inciting unrest and organizing protests.”<\/p>\n

The new law provides for sentences of up to 10 years in prison for individuals found guilty of these violations.<\/p>\n
