Pope Francis said today during Sunday Mass in St. Peter’s Square that the threat of a global conflict from the Russian occupation of Ukraine must convince all humanity that the time has come to end the war before the war abolishes all humanity. .

“More than a month has passed since the invasion of Ukraine, since the beginning of this cruel and meaningless war, which, like any war, is a defeat for all of us. “We must reject war, which is a place of death where fathers and mothers bury their children, where men kill their brothers without seeing them, where the strong decide and the poor die.” said Pope Francis addressing the thousands of people who were in the square.

He added that the war in Ukraine was destroying the country’s future, citing a statistic that half of the country’s children had to leave Ukraine.

“This is the beast of war, something that is barbaric.” he said, urging his listeners not to regard war as inevitable or something to be accustomed to.

View from St. Peter’s Square

top channel![""]("https://top-channel.tv/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/lcimg-230f6de4-abcb-4a51-b393-cfda04512fce-676x450.jpg")
