At least two people have been killed and eight others injured in an armed attack in central Tel Aviv, Israel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
This is the fourth attack of its kind in just over two weeks, the latest in the deadliest wave of terrorism in Israel since 2016.<\/p>\n
Some of the shootings are reported to have taken place on Dizengoff Street, one of the city\u2019s busiest streets.<\/p>\n
Doctors said the shooting took place around 9pm, on the last night of Israeli Labor Week, outside a crowded bar enjoying the start of the weekend.<\/p>\n
Almost three hours later, police and the army had not yet found the attacker or attackers and police instructed residents to stay home.<\/p>\n
The disappearance of the attacker caused a “hunt” in the heart of Israel’s most cosmopolitan city. Soldiers in full combat gear ran through the city center in search of the attacker, many of them filmed live by journalists running past them.<\/p>\n
The shooting was the fourth deadly attack in Israel in less than three weeks and brought the total death toll from March 22 to 13. The attack raised fears of an even more intense increase over the next 10 days, when the rare convergence of Ramadan, Easter and Easter are expected to further increase tensions between Israelis and Palestinians.<\/p>\n
