In the COVID ward at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, 4 pregnant women are being treated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Their health condition is stable and two of them are expected to give birth soon as they are in the last weeks of pregnancy.<\/p>\n
the director of this Clinic, Jakup Ismajli who said that from January 2021 until now in this ward dedicated to COVID have been treated a total of 21 pregnant patients.<\/p>\n
“The condition of the patients is stable. In 2020 we had a total of 103 patients (with COVID) who sought treatment in our clinic, 47 ended in childbirth, while others were pregnancies which after treatment and treatment were released home. “And in 2021 we have 21 pregnant women (with COVID), a birth by cesarean section”, stressed Ismajli.<\/strong><\/p>\n As new cases of those affected by COVID-19 have increased in recent days, Ismajli said that the institutions have made an early release of anti-COVID measures and this is being reflected in increasing numbers.<\/p>\n “With the increase in the number of recent days, it is seen that the measures have not been respected enough, the election campaign and non-compliance with the measures, not keeping distance, I think such a release has become premature and this is reflected in the number of increased COVID infection, ‘he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n The director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic, Jakup Ismajli said that due to the pandemic in this clinic last year about 700 fewer births were performed.<\/p>\n “In 2020 we had about 8 thousand 800 births, 3 thousand 120 were performed by cesarean section, while the rest were performed by normal birth. “There is a decrease, somewhere we had 600-700 fewer births”, he stressed.<\/strong><\/p>\n From March 13, 2020 to February 22, 2021, over 66,600 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Kosovo, of which 1,575 patients died.
