She was 48 years old.<\/p>\n<p>The Brazilian-born actress grew up in Colombia before emigrating to the US with her family.<\/p>\n<p>At the age of 16 she left her parents&#8217; home to pursue an acting career with a talent agent in Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>In 2009 she returned to Colombia to star in the soap opera &#8220;La Bella Ceci y El Imprudente&#8221;, and then returned to Los Angeles to star in the series East Los High and later in the popular medical series ER.<\/p>\n<p>In homage, her husband wrote: &#8220;Jossara bravely fought cancer and always had the support of her family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She was an extraordinary wife, friend and artist.
