The organizers were the so-called anti-capitalist bloc of the Feminist Collective for Thought and Action.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><em>&#8220;Being a woman, LGBTI + person, of any other race, with special needs, you are unsuitable to be considered as workers, because this system in which we are and which is the patriarchal-capitalist system, is a system of violence, disunity, discipline and oppression of the majority in favor of the minority<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey<\/p>\n<p>Protests also took place in many parts of the world.  In Turkey, police arrested dozens of protesters in an attempt to stop large-scale rallies on a day commemorating the deaths of 34 protesters in 1977 and 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Italy and France<\/p>\n<p>In Italy and France rallies were organized by unions which gathered in Assisi demanding better wages, and more job security.<\/p>\n<p>May 1 originated in the US in 1886 when thousands of workers stood up to demand the 8-hour workday we have today.
