{"id":49462,"date":"2022-05-13T14:25:39","date_gmt":"2022-05-13T14:25:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imalbania.com\/kosova\/croatia-adopts-law-to-introduce-euro\/"},"modified":"2022-05-13T14:25:39","modified_gmt":"2022-05-13T14:25:39","slug":"croatia-adopts-law-to-introduce-euro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imalbania.com\/kosova\/croatia-adopts-law-to-introduce-euro\/","title":{"rendered":"Croatia adopts law to introduce euro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"firstP\">\n<p>Croatian lawmakers approved a law Friday that paves the way for the introduction of the euro currency next year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Croatia will replace the Croatian kuna with the euro on 1 January 2023.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 117 votes were in favor of the euro legislation, 13 against and one lawmaker abstained in the 151-member parliament.<\/p>\n<p>Croatia, which joined the European Union in 2013, remains one of the bloc&#8217;s weakest economies after the 1992-95 war.<\/p>\n<p>Right-wing parties in the Croatian Parliament opposed the introduction of the euro, saying it would increase poverty and put pressure on citizens.<\/p>\n<p>Both currencies are set to be used in parallel in the months following the official start of the euro.<\/p>\n<p>Croatia&#8217;s economy depends on tourism revenues during the summer months.
