In the race for this post were former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and former chairman of the Democratic Party in Kuk\u00ebs, Ibsen Elezi.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>After a 12-hour voting process, DP members voted in 108 polling stations across the country, with former Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha declared the winner.<\/p>\n<p>Turnout was quite high, a difficult figure to compare with previous processes as long as no one in the DP had accurate membership data.<\/p>\n<p>Sali Berisha challenged again 1 year after being declared &#8216;non grata&#8217; by the US, confirming through a vote his return to the top of the Democratic Party, a return that is endangered by a court decision.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the other candidate Ibsen Elezi was determined, despite the criticism on the irregularities of the process and did not withdraw from the race.<\/p>\n<p>In all the places where the counting of votes has ended, Sali Berisha has been declared the winner, leaving behind with a significant difference of votes the other candidate for chairman of the Democratic Party, Ibsen Elezin.<\/p>\n<p>It is reported that in <strong>Shkoder<\/strong> Sali Berisha was declared the winner with 319 votes against Ibsen Elez with 67 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Ibsen Elezi did not manage to win either <strong>Kukes<\/strong>, the hometown where there were even more expectations.  Berisha received 714 votes, leaving behind Ibsen Elez with 164 votes.<\/p>\n<p>IN <strong>Has,<\/strong> Berisha is declared the winner with 803 votes while Ibsen Elezi 22 votes.<\/p>\n<p>IN <strong>pathos<\/strong> The count also ended with a total of 626 Democratic Party members voting.  614 votes result for Sali Berisha, 11 votes for Ibsen Elezi, while 1 vote is invalid.<\/p>\n<p>IN <strong>Mallakastra<\/strong> A total of 419 members voted, of which 10 votes were received by Ibsen Elezi and another 409 by Sali Berisha.<\/p>\n<p>IN <strong>Maliq<\/strong> Berisha received 1266 votes while Ibsen Elezi 10 votes.<\/p>\n<p>IN <strong>Bulqiz\u0117<\/strong> The counting of votes also ended where 456 members voted and Berisha was declared the winner with 431 votes, leaving behind Ibsen Elezim with 17 votes.<\/p>\n<p>IN <strong>Burrel<\/strong> 526 members voted where Berisha is the winner with 490 while Ibsen Elezi received only 31 votes.<\/p>\n<p>IN <strong>Mirdita<\/strong> 478 members took part in the voting, of which 454 votes were received by Sali Berisha and 18 votes by Ibsen Elezi.  6 votes were invalid.<\/p>\n<p>IN <strong>fern<\/strong> 2234 members voted in total, where Berisha received a total of 2170 and Ibsen Elezi 46 votes.  18 votes were invalid.<\/p>\n<p>IN <strong>Tropoje<\/strong> Berisha received 914 votes while Ibsen ElEzi 2 votes.<\/p>\n<p>IN <strong>Lezha<\/strong> A total of 906 members voted, of which Sali Berisha received 859 votes and Ibsen Elezi 39.<\/p>\n<p>IN <strong>Lushnj\u0117<\/strong> voted a total of 815 members.
