On the eve of the Conference League final, the team of Rome and that of Feyenoord, have come together in Tirana, undertaking a series of community initiatives, aimed at supporting people in need and promoting the sport.

Representatives of both teams joined the Tirana Football Academy, to exchange their experience with the junior champions in the fields of the Artificial Lake Park.

In his greeting speech, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj thanked the two teams for their social initiatives. “A super thank you to both the Feynoord team and the Roma team, who despite being here to play a match, have come before, together with their coaches, to visit some of the schools and social centers in Tirana, where there are people in need, or some of the sports teams, such as the fantastic team of the little ones of Tirana “, said Veliaj.

He said sport is the most beautiful way to unite people. While calling on children to take up sports, Veliaj underlined that sports make people more useful to society.

“The message that comes to us today from Feyenoord and Rome is to be good citizens because that is how we are good people and good family. A good man, a man who says I’m brave and an athlete, never gives up, not just domestic violence, but neither at school nor on the streets. Rivalry is acceptable, but once we are done, we will work together again. I believe that this lesson is especially valid in Tirana, when we become very passionate about sports or political matches. But, we have to admit that at the end of the day we have our roots here, we have the future here. Therefore, let us coexist with each other, because what we have together is bigger and better than what we have separately “declared Veliaj.

The Ambassador of Italy to our country, Fabrizio Bucci, underlined that this is just the beginning of a long cooperation. “A big, heartfelt thank you to the Mayor and the team, the AS Roma association that is here. Rome invests a lot in social issues, they do a lot of activities, they do a lot of activities for children, for women. AS Roma friends used their presence here to organize some social activities. The idea is to plant a seed, which in the future will bear fruit. “So, this is the beginning of a journey and a cooperation that will continue for a long time”, declared Ambassador Bucci.

Feyenoord representative, Ton Strooband, stressed that in Tirana his team plays for the most important match of the last 20 years. “Roma and Feyenoord for 90 minutes on the field will be opponents, but beyond these 90 minutes we are good friends and together we will try to do something good for everyone,” he said.

Meanwhile, the representative of the Rome team, Francesco Pastorella, appealed for more solidarity and less violence. “Football is a game, we have to do our best, but the one who is the best wins. The important thing is to do our best and have fun. This is what we need to see. “You are our future,” he added.

During their visit to Tirana, representatives of Rome and Feyenoord will also go to schools to promote sporting and healthy values.

top channel![""]("https://top-channel.tv/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/WhatsApp-Image-2022-05-24-at-6.29.21-PM-1-1-675x450.jpeg")
