The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, inspected the new volleyball, basketball and mini-football fields at the former Aviation Field, with which the Municipality of Tirana approaches the goal of setting up 100 sports and recreational facilities in the capital.

“It is fantastic news that the 1 kilometer park of the Aviation Field, fanatically guarded by Edi Rama when he was Mayor, today is furnished, starting with the urbanization of roads, building blocks, nursery, garden, school” Dhora Leka ”, but also recreational squares. The pandemic taught us that physical activity is very important, so I am glad that the whole area is full of recreational areas, as well as a basketball and soccer field “, said Veliaj.

The mayor invited all parents to encourage children to make the most of these facilities, which are good for physical activity and health.

“The invitation for all parents is to teach children to engage in physical activity, whether in the gym after school or in new areas. It is extremely important and I am very proud of the colleagues in Unit 7, who have insisted on continuing with the same seriousness, every month, from a playground and a playground. “When you hear the number 75, while we had zero play corners, and when you remember that we fought battles for the playgrounds, – with deputies coming with batons to tear the sidewalks, – today is day and night,” said Veliaj.

The newly built fields have all the necessary sports equipment, illuminated fields, but also the respective fences.
