Ukraine’s parliament said Thursday that 32 journalists had been killed during the Russian-led invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The figure comes just days after French journalist Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Leclerc-Imhoff was killed in Ukraine after being hit by shells while covering an evacuation operation.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old journalist, who worked for the 24-hour news channel BFMTV, was on his way to Lysychansk near the eastern city of Severodonetsk in Luhansk when the attack took place.<\/p>\n
The media said he was covering the humanitarian operation in an armored vehicle and was the victim of shells.<\/p>\n
This week, Russian forces continued their offensive along the eastern wing of the country and advanced slowly toward the center of Severodonetsk.<\/p>\n
189 miles south of the Russian border, the ruined city is one of the last areas in the eastern Luhansk region still under Ukrainian control.<\/p>\n
