Not long ago, Russian troops savagely attacked the Ukrainian capital – but now the history of this chapter of the occupation is in a museum. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
As the fighting continues elsewhere, Ukrainians are gathering in a new exhibition in Kiev called “Crossroads of Ukraine,” featuring artifacts found after the Russian military was forced to withdraw from occupied areas around the capital.<\/p>\n
Rockets, food rations, helmets and other abandoned objects in the region north of Kiev are on display at an exhibition at a World War II museum.<\/p>\n
Yuriy Savchuk, curator of the exhibition:<\/strong><\/p>\n “In this exhibition, you can see the war. Through original artifacts and artistic interpretations <\/strong><\/p>\n Zoya Didok, Visitor: <\/strong><\/p>\n “It is really very difficult to be here and I am very happy that I was not in those villages at the time when the Russian soldiers were there.”<\/strong><\/p>\n Mykola Voropaiev, Visitor:<\/strong><\/p>\n “I think this exhibition is really interesting. “People can come here and see what was happening in our city and in Ukraine.”<\/strong><\/p>\n The glass boxes in the exhibition hold personal notes and cards of Russian soldiers killed on the front line.
