Amazing views recently showed a herd of lions sleeping on the branches of a tree to escape the midday heat in a nature park in Tanzania.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
In rare sight the lions were seen sleeping more than 7 meters above the ground in the Serengeti national park in the south of the country.<\/p>\n
In one of the views you can see the wonderful African panorama and the acacia tree where the herd takes a nap.<\/p>\n
Uganda and Tanzania in East Africa are the only places where you can find lions climbing trees, while in other countries they are known to dislike heights.<\/p>\n
Researchers believe this is to escape the heat and insects, as well as to spot their future prey.<\/p>\n
And in fact climbing the lion almost 100 kg on the tree can be challenging.<\/p>\n
Photographer Hannah Strand, 33, is a tour guide in Africa and has lived there all her life.<\/p>\n
Hannah said: “This was the first time we saw the herd climbing the tree, I did not know how they would react to the vehicle so we stayed away and slowly approached them to get used to it.”<\/p>\n
“Lions are very impressive cats. “They are not only big and muscular, but the way they interact is amazing to prove.”<\/p>\n
“In our outings we explore the surroundings discovering everything that nature has to offer.”<\/p>\n
“Lions climbing trees are not a common sight, they are different from tigers and leopards who like to crawl.”<\/p>\n
