A burqa queen formerly crowned as Miss Brazil has tragically died at the age of 27 after a faulty tonsillectomy procedure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Gleycy Correia, from Macae, in southeastern Brazil, died on June 20 after surgery left the deceased with massive bleeding that caused cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n
Correia died at a private clinic after spending about two months in a coma from surgery she underwent in April.<\/p>\n
Five days after the operation she had started bleeding which left her in a coma until she passed away the day before.<\/p>\n
Correia was crowned Miss e and Miss Costa do Sol in 2018.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Miss Brazil Officials wrote: “Gleycy will always be remembered for her beauty, joy and sympathy.”<\/p>\n
Pastor Jak Abreu, who knew Gleycy’s family, wrote on social media that her family believed she had made mistakes during the operation.<\/p>\n
“God chose this day to take our princess,” said Pastor Abreu.<\/p>\n
“We know the shortage will be huge. “But we will rejoice from heaven with her smile.”<\/p>\n
Gleycy had more than 52,000 followers on social media.<\/p>\n
After she fell into a coma the site began to be used for prayer.<\/p>\n
The deceased had often spoken of her simple origins, growing up in poverty in Brazil.<\/p>\n
She had started working as a model since she was a teenager after working as a manicurist in a beauty salon.<\/p>\n
“We never know how strong we are until this is the only choice,” she once wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n
“I was not born in a cradle of gold, I come from a very simple family, but I am very proud of that,” wrote the deceased.<\/p>\n
