Whether this was a staff protest or a programming change, Canadian Radio Kiss 104.9 FM listeners still did not understand.

Yesterday morning on a light music radio station in Vancouver, Canada, someone posted the harsh anti-establishment rock song “Killing in the Name” by the American band Rage Against the Machine.

And then he played it again, and again.

By noon the song had been played hundreds of times on Kiss Radio 104.9 FM, prompting online speculation that the election was a protest against the company’s layoffs. parent Rogers Sports and Media.

While some experts argued it was a distraction to signal that the station was changing format to ‘alternative rock’.

Among the lyrics of the famous anti-establishment song, the line is often repeated: “Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me!” (Shut up, you can’t tell me what to do!).

But the station had played a version where vulgar lyrics are extinguished.

A man who answered the phone to answer requests for information did not give his name but said he was called Apollo after the boxing movie character ‘Rocky’.

“I’m not allowed to say but I’re just here constantly playing the ‘Rage’ song,” said Apollo. “What do you look like, do you like it?”

The incident comes a day after the presenters of the morning radio program were fired,

So all listeners’ requests for music were denied except for those asking for the song ‘Killing in the Name’.

Apollo told Britain’s The Guardian that he had found the song there when he came to work.

“I do not know. “If he writes an article, the boss can read it and get me in trouble,” he said.

The journalist replied: “Anyway I believe you will be in trouble.”

“Right,” he replied.

top channel
