The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, has revealed that the war in Ukraine has made her nine-year-old son want to become a soldier.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
In an interview with NBC, Zelenska said that now the only thing her son Kyrylo wants to do is martial arts and how to use a rifle.<\/p>\n
The wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was on a visit to the US, where she asked for more weapons for Ukraine.<\/p>\n
“Before the war, my son went to the folk dance ensemble. He played piano, learned English. But after the invasion of Russia, it is clear that he wants to be a soldier. I can’t turn it into arts and humanities.”<\/em> she said.<\/p>\n This situation has greatly affected not only her children but all children in Ukraine, who have already lost an important part of their childhood.<\/p>\n “What I really want to ensure is that my son’s childhood comes back to him and that he enjoys his life to the fullest”<\/em>said Zelenska.<\/p>\n During a 15-minute speech to the US Congress, she presented photos and videos of Ukrainian children who have been killed or injured during the war.<\/p>\n One of the images included was 4-year-old Liza Dmytriyeva, who was killed in an airstrike in the central-western town of Vinnytsia.<\/p>\n “We want every father and every mother to be able to say to their child: Go to sleep peacefully. There will be no more airstrikes, no more missile attacks. Is this too much to wish for?
