In some images that can be considered rude for many, an enthusiastic vacationer can be seen who starts to throw stones, and then violently grabs a fish by the tail that came close to the shore, thinking it was “a dangerous shark”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The naive beachgoer had mistaken the appearance of the shark for what is known as a stork fish, or needle fish, which is a peaceful creature that had come ashore because of what must have been a problem.<\/p>\n
Shocked onlookers at the Turkish resort of Turunc in Mugla province watched as the man sought to take control of the situation despite the perceived “danger” being false.<\/p>\n
Needlefish often swim in shallow waters, and sometimes vacationers are frightened by them.<\/p>\n
In the video, the woman filming the scene can be heard saying: “How beautiful you are! Maybe he’s scared.”<\/p>\n
But then the “brave” beachcomber appears with a stone in his hand, which he throws towards the fish, then grabs it by the tail and pulls it towards the shore.<\/p>\n
A shocked voice in the background is heard saying, “He stoned him!”<\/p>\n
The woman with the camera says: “These kinds of people …”<\/p>\n
Another woman can be heard saying: \u201cOh look he grabbed her by the tail. What is he doing like that?\u201d<\/p>\n
Others are heard saying in the background: \u201cLet him go! You guys tell him to let it go.”<\/p>\n
It is not clear what happened next but some reports said that the authorities are taking an interest in the case.<\/p>\n
