The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha on Saturday revealed the reason why he refused to meet the Democrats throughout Albania, after the decision he took to expel from the party its former leader, Sali Berisha.
In a meeting with the eighth branch in Tirana, Basha accused the former prime minister and his supporters that for personal interests, even when the PD itself was in power, they were still ready to turn a blind eye to the Democrats.
For the leader of the Democrats, in Dac Sali Berisha and in Dac his supporters, they have always built their personal power on the sacrifice of honest Democrats, taking it and thinking what to get, when according to him every honest Democrat thinks what to give for this place.
“People have realized this. There is no other reason why we are all together here tonight and we will continue to be day by day because people have understood. The question that people used to ask why it does not come out and you, I believe has received the answer. Could I forgive Edi Rama the pleasure of a clash with the Democrats like the one that Sali Berisha tried to do with those few people who for their chair are ready to burn Albania on January 8? Could I allow myself in the first place, that this one you know me as the boy of your neighborhood, my family upbringing, my sense as a democrat from the first moment that this party was born and no longer the responsibility you have for me charged as chairman of the Democratic Party to pit Democrats against each other“, Said Basha.
He stressed that since the beginning of time he has tried to avoid clashes between Democrats and therefore has always decided not to respond.
“I told you at the beginning who asked me, no I do not. Let it vent. I know it is full of anger, rage, lies, but evil will make its cycle like any virus, it will have its cost like any virus. But, it is not fought by putting Democrats face to face and that is why I believe you understand very well. January 8 has opened everyone’s eyes to why I made that decision and why it was the right decision. And that’s one more reason why today we are together, we are the absolute majority here of the governing structures, tomorrow we will be even more as we were yesterday, as we were 4 or 5 days ago, as we will be tomorrow because the Democrats are not together neither for the name, nor for the chair, nor for the fame of a single man. Are they together because in our union they see and find the strength to become better, stronger, more ready to respond to whom? The demands of the Albanians“, Said Basha.
