Member of the National Council, Edlira Devolli: Berisha’s rhetoric and movements are not principled

“The situation in which our political family finds itself dates back to 9 September. Until that day we were all together and upset about the stolen election, we were not divided. Personally, I do not believe that Sali Beriasha realized that Lulzim Basha was in a political bargain with Edi Rama after September 9, or worse, that he sold the elections. If it were true his political sense would not have escaped and he would have denounced it earlier. I want to share something with all of you.

On May 20, 2021, in the first press conference held by Sali Berisha after the declaration non grata, I went with the conviction that I am supporting a principled leader who would find the right choice for the DP. But after September 9, I chose to be close to legal institutions, voted, elected and accepted by many of my colleagues who today think differently and see me differently from 4 or 5 months ago, I was personally lynched and threatened, unfortunately from within the family political time.
But I’m there for the fact that they are legal, with the votes of all of us who voted together and a part that split after 9/11.

I am there because I believe that Sali Berisha for the good of the Democrats will come at the head of the DP again. No I’m sorry, I do not see anything principled.
If he really wanted to be the leader of the Democratic Party for our good, when the June 13 presidential elections were announced, he knew that Basha sold the elections as he has twisted it in the current statements, not only that he should not come to voted with us, but let them run in front ..
It would have been not only more correct and noble but also not at all prejudiced, It would have spared the Democrats all this zamallahi.
Berisha’s rhetoric and movements are not at all principled and we who give our voluntary contribution put it in function of principles and values and not in function of someone’s personal situations.

I take this opportunity to call on our democratic brothers to unite against the evil that has gripped Durrës throughout Albania. Let us not leave the municipality of Durrës exclusivity to the concrete mafia “, she said.
