After withdrawing from running as part of the names for the Shkodra municipality, to represent Berisha and his movement in the March 6 elections, Voltana Ademi said she would continue to make her political contribution in support of Berisha.
“This is the democratic process that the Re-establishment Group, through the new statute, makes in the DP structures to elect from the membership and the DP supporters their chosen one who will be a candidate for the local elections. For me it is too late, the DP should have done it much earlier. This is a necessity and this is the merit that the Assembly did through the statutory changes. This process does not only help the DP, but is an exercise of democracy for the entire system of democracy in the country.
This process is a good omen for the future of Albania. I have been clear, I have supported Berisha’s movement, I will continue to be active. After this mandate I will be in Shkodra in function of my profession and my political commitment that will be as before. Sali Berisha will not decide who is the mayor of Shkodra. He has made it possible to give power to each of us through voting. I am happy that we have achieved this day and that the primary system is made precisely by the political force and not by the leadership of 5 people. This is the power that the new statute has given us. Vote today for what you think will be your representative“, She said.
