MP Erion Braçe has requested an interpellation with the Minister of Agriculture, Frida Krifca for doubling the prices of agricultural products, one of the problems that farmers are facing.
He said that the economy has grown during 2021, but agriculture not because the prices of products of this sector have risen.
“In the quarter of 2021, the economy grew, while agriculture 0.01%, the quarter 6.99%, agriculture 0.05%. the economy has grown, but not agriculture. This is inequality, economic growth with cost inequality is an illusion. In agriculture the price of products is important. A farmer will not even issue the minimum wage“, Said Brace.
While the Minister said that the reason for this is the increase in inflation worldwide, which has affected every sector of our country.
“Rising prices and inflation, we are facing a transient phenomenon which will be resolved with a reset. We are investing more, the export of tomato sauce, with raw materials produced in the country. 15 million euro investment is being made in Lushnje, expansion in greenhouses, which has increased productivity, impact on the structure of agriculture and structures, the Ministry of Agriculture is working hard“, Said Krifca.
The Minister said that 15 million euros are being invested in the Lushnja region to help farmers, but according to Brace, they are losing money in every investment they make.
“Exports have increased in January, but as it is explained that agriculture is not, the numbers are INSTAT not mine, but the sauce is made from tomatoes that are cheap, below cost. “Budget support in Lushnje, how is it possible that they sell below cost, they come at a loss”, opposed Brace.
Brace has long been the voice of farmers already, making opposition within the majority, in their defense.
