After the vote in the Assembly for the extension of the mandate of the vetting bodies, the Ambassador of the European Union in Tirana, Luigi Soreca through a post on Twitter congratulated the deputies of the Assembly.
In his message, he writes that this shows determination beyond political parties, to move forward towards EU membership.
“Today, the Parliament showed strong inter-party determination to move forward towards membership! Congratulations to the deputies of the political forces who voted today for the extension of the vetting, a crucial historical moment towards the completion of the justice reform.
This was a vote for Albania’s future in the EU. It is important that vetting bodies continue their work, with the highest professionalism and integrity, to ensure a successful and rapid finalization of the process. “I welcome the important decision taken by the Assembly on the DP proposals for the special parliamentary commission for electoral reform, in accordance with the OSCE recommendations, as well as for the territorial reform, preserving the achievements achieved so far”, writes Soreca.
