The decrease in the birth rate or the departure of the inhabitants abroad or towards the urban areas has led to the decrease of the students in the schools of the villages in the region of Lezha.
Residents say that if they continue at this pace, many schools will be forced to close, due to the small number of students.
Such a phenomenon has increased greatly in recent years, which has led to the increase of collective classes, where at least in every school there are 3 or 4 collective classes.
The most affected areas are the rural ones, mainly the deep mountain villages, but recently this phenomenon is being noticed in the schools of the municipality of Lezha, while the main reason remains emigration but also the influx towards schools in the city.
