The by-elections in 6 municipalities resulted in an electoral defeat for the Democratic Party.
The second political force in the country not only did not win any municipality, but in 5 of them did not even take second place. Lulzim Basha had an alibi for the poor result.
“March 6 was an anomaly of anomalies. All the comments you may want to make today are your right. The facts are as follows: 30% of Albanians have participated in the elections, the state administration has been forced to participate, either at the central or local level, and if you want to analyze the facts, these are the facts. The gangs have also been involved, while at least one case of the Democratic Party in cooperation with the other two poles has been denied to the commissioners, as was the case of Vora, but all this fades before the message given by the abandonment of the March 6 process. “
He does not see his resignation as an option, although some losses are recorded in his CV as chairman of the Democratic Party. Nor is the disappointing result in Shkodra for Lulzim Basha a cause for political responsibility.
“The first thing I want to say to the propaganda work is that I have not lost any race in my life. Yes, I have faced electoral massacres, but I have not lost any race in my life. Today we are not talking about me. I understand the personal concern of those who do everything in Albania for their personal interests. The Bermuda Triangle has everything for personal interests and will turn this into its own personal interest and turn it into a personal war. “
The leader of the Democrats warned that the loss of the elections will be followed by a reform of the Democratic Party, which will also affect the ruling dome.
“My war is not for my personal fate, it is for the fate of the Albanians, for the fate of Albania and anyone who asks me to leave in particular in this battle my duty in these two main battle plans that are to offer the Albanians the return of belief in free voting, in democracy through a profound reform of the electoral system and the acceleration of the reform of the Democratic Party to become the party of space and free thought, the party of citizenship, the party of the hopes of the Albanians, will be disappointed. ”
The split of the opposition showed that it was not a factor in the victory of the Socialist Party as in 5 Municipalities, the Socialists received more votes than the rivals taken together.
