The Democratic Party group has been embroiled in debates this Monday during the meeting, following the failure in the March 6 by-elections in six municipalities.
The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha has considered March 6 as a “trap after January 8”, not accepting his sixth loss in the election race.
Democrat Ferdinand Xhaferri has asked Basha to leave the leadership of the Democratic Party, emphasizing that he has insulted the Democrats with his morning statement.
Basha: March 6 was the trap after January 8 and we were placed before the obligation to participate in the elections. Tomorrow the other organs of the party meet to discuss.
Xheferraj: I am older and more experienced, I have no ambition but responsibility for PD. Berisha is not a solution and he closed it with PD but you insulted us when you said I did not lose any race. You have to leave as chairman.
Bash: I did not lose any race, they stole them.
Sula: What is the chairman solution? That so you can tell us again. How do you give solutions? You and we have responsibilities. No one trusts us like that anymore.
Ilda Dhori: Open party elections.
Ilda Dhori: You have to leave, you have to open the race in the DP. Berisha closed it, the Democrats must choose who unites us.
Helidon Bushati: We must be beyond the ego, you and Berisha destroyed the DP. You have to leave
Helidon Bushati: Reconciliation congress is needed.
Helidon Bushati: All of us here and our colleagues in the House of Freedom must go beyond personal egos for the good of the DP.
Gjekmarkaj: The commission should lead the DP in the elections.
Bushati: To pave the way for elections.
Bushati: It takes congress to reconcile the participation of both currents where for the common good some have to take a step back.
Basha: There are two ways. We either stay together and reorganize or hand it over to Sali Berisha. Berisha’s intention is to get the DP to protect itself from ‘non grata’.
The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha continues not to accept the deep defeat in the local by-elections, where not only could not get any municipality, but was ranked third force with fewer votes than Sali Berisha’s coalition with the SMI and the PDK.
The March 6 elections had a great value for the democratic electorate, where it was expected to show the support of the Democrats who for months now have been divided on two fronts, those who support Basha and those who support Berisha.
