The National Youth Congress, within the title “Tirana, European Capital of Youth 2022” brings to Albania the first exhibition “Street Art” in Tirana entitled “We are our heroes”.
The General Coordinator of the title “Tirana, European Capital of Youth 2022” at the National Youth Congress, Aspasjana Kongo, praised the artistic portfolio of the Greek artist “Same84” and stressed the importance of art, expressing the attention that Tirana EYC 2022 has given through the program “Youth produces Culture ”.
“Many thanks to the National Historical Museum and the Greek Embassy for the support they give us for the realization of projects for young people. For us it is a support that will continue for the youth and we will continue our commitment to support a calendar with many activities throughout this year “, said Congo. She invited all young people to visit the exhibition until March 22 at the premises of the National Museum of Tirana.
The title of the exhibition “We are our heroes”, refers exactly to what the title “Tirana, European Youth Capital 2022” mentions. As the Greek artist puts it, “all the works in the exhibition are inspired by our human power and the need to bring out of ourselves the hero we all hide in our souls. Based on this reasoning, I have tried with my works to ‘connect’ the everyday people we meet in our daily lives, with the ‘modern’ heroes. “And in a way that ‘shadows’ the other, showing that it is our duty to ‘capture’ our own lives and finally become our heroes.”
In this exhibition, the Greek artist of the street “Same 84”, presents many of his new works on canvas, which have been worked with mixed techniques, thus maintaining the same technique with which he works the walls in open public space. This fact gives a special feeling to the road on the canvas, while the cement textures and spray writing emphasize this feeling. Characteristic of his works are very strong contrasts.
The exhibition “Same84” is part of the activities of “Tirana, the European Capital of Youth 2022” under the auspices of Kyriakos Iosifidis (UrbanAct) and Helidon Haliti and with the organization of the National Youth Congress with the support of the Municipality of Tirana and the Greek Embassy in Tirana.
