A part of professional and amateur football players of different Afghan teams are staying in Lezha in the framework of the assistance of the Albanian government for their hospitality for more than 6 months now.
After such a period, these girls feel the need to return to the normalcy of their lives, where, among other things, they have football as an important part of it.
“We are here to concretize the cooperation with your federation and to stand by these girls to continue their dream,” said Duka
“It is difficult to stay away from home and away from family, but we felt at home here thanks to the help of the Albanian government and in terms of sports thanks to the Albanian football federation. “These girls have as their dream, to continue their sports career, which is becoming possible thanks to you” – said the secretary of FSHF
One of the daughters of a professional Afghan footballer tells us something more about staying here.
“I have played football for many years in my country and I would like to continue this sport here in Albania or anywhere. “My example is Lionel Messi.”
She tells us that in this month, among other things, she fasts a very different month of Ramadan.
“This month of Ramadan and fasting this year is very different, we are Muslims and of course we fast, but to be honest this is a much more difficult month than in Afghanistan, because we are without our families, but we will endure anyway. ”
The Afghan girls football is part of a protection and rescue program by FIFA and the material base they received are only the first step of cooperation with the AFC.
I want to thank first the Albanian government for the conditions it created to receive us and the president of the Albanian football federation for fulfilling the conditions for us to continue to pursue our dream and I want to tell all the girls not to give up on your dream .
