“We offered to have a process, it is important, sincere based on criteria, procedure, the first necessary guarantee as the president, the first citizen who symbolizes the unity of the people, for this reason I conveyed the official position to the DP We see the parliamentary group and other groups as appropriate in this process, which should be such that it is not even perceived as a game. A substantial participation of the opposition, there is no majority to elect the president, nor to play games that SPAK three deputies were born declared non grata, two others were generated for vote robbery, Aqif Rakipi, the other two are no longer in the headquarters are behind bars, for these reasons there is no legitimacy to choose him nor to make games or farces. It is understandable that the right to propose belongs to the opposition. For this reason we have proposed criteria, it should not be from the parliament, but it should come out and be generated by the Albanians, it should be anti-communist“, Said Alibeaj.
“He must be an anti-communist president above all. What does an anti-communist president mean? The candidate should not be an accomplice in the period, should not have been in the political files of the dictatorship. Evidence of commitment to the eradication of communism is an advantage. The way is that based on the criteria we stay strong. A kind of criterion has been set for not being active in politics, but this criterion is not written in stone. We offer this position to parliamentary groups, especially those in opposition. We are open to discuss. The procedure guarantees compliance. A real process not to turn into the lipstick of the majority. I publicly expect the representatives of the majority to have their position. This is our approach to the President. We are waiting for their reaction and based on their reaction we will have our reaction “he added.
