The Municipality of Tirana announces that it will contribute to the reconstruction of the city of Karkiv after the war. The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj made this promise during the meeting with the President of the Kharkiv Regional Council Tetiana Yehorova.
“Good friends look on difficult days! When things go well, it’s easy to twin with another city. But when things go wrong, it shows who the real friend is. We have decided to make a contribution to the reconstruction of Kharkiv, with full conviction that Ukraine will not only win, but will rise stronger. Our contribution may be to rebuild a school or kindergarten, from what we have shown we know how to do well, because we want to give our modest part in rebuilding a sister city
The President of the Kharkiv Regional Council thanked Mayor Veliaj for the support given and for raising the voice in the international arena for Ukraine.
“I want to express my great gratitude to the mayor of Tirana and his entire team. For us, now, the most important thing is not the finances, but the need for support. “You have raised your voice for us in the international arena,” she said.
