The government will reimburse up to 30% of bills for construction materials for public works contracts.
The normative act has received the approval of the Council of Ministers at its last meeting and provides additional support from the state budget for companies that are building road infrastructure projects as well as those of the reconstruction process.
The formula for calculating the subsidy for basic materials used in construction will be based on the prices provided in the contract signed with the project implementer and the current prices at which they are buying these products.
“It is an act that passed in the last meeting of the Council of Ministers provides for a compensation for the increase of prices for certain products up to 30%. More specifically, the contracting authorities will analyze the increased bills for the added categories of iron, bitumen, plastic pipes that have suffered a rise in prices in international markets due to the war. We will analyze the prices presented in the estimates by the contractors and the invoices, recognizing a maximum of 30% increase in the prices of these products. ”
The government argues that this support measure, for which there is no official figure yet on how much funding will be made available to these companies that implement public investment tenders, is driven by higher prices for construction materials, especially after the war. in Ukraine.
