The second round of electing a consensual President also fails. The Democratic Party does not nominate any candidate as it claims that the Socialist Party should support it with its signatures.
“I note with regret that there is no approach from the opposition to take responsibility for formally proposing candidacies. However, we respect the agreement with the parliamentary group of PD and the other two groups, that the first two rounds belong to the proposals of the opposition. “- tha Balla
Taulant Balla stands by the agreement according to him, that the Socialist Party will not nominate any candidate, but will host candidates with signatures from the Democratic Party. What can be said is that the President who will be elected in the fourth round will be a proposal with the signatures of the Socialist Party.
“But if even in the third round he will not enter the process, of course one thing is for sure, in the fourth round the President or the new President of the Republic will be elected with candidates proposed by us. ”- tha Balla.
But the fact that none of the 8 names of the Democratic Party was officially voted in the hall, the Socialist Party can still choose one of them and put it to the vote. If this happens, it remains to be seen how the opposition MPs will react: will they vote for a right-wing candidate, but who is proposed by the left?
