Russian soldier Vadim Shishimarin, a 21-year-old Russian soldier sentenced to life in prison for war crimes in Ukraine, will appeal the verdict.
His lawyer Viktor Ovsyannikov made his appeal known and said he would seek annulment of the Court’s decision.
“This is the most severe punishment and any person would oppose it. I will ask for the annulment of the court decision ” said Viktor Ovsyannikov.
Vadim Shishimarin admitted to shooting dead a 62-year-old man in the northeastern village of Chupakhivka on 28 February. His lawyer says he was enforcing the direct orders.
