The 200 elected members gave the quorum to the meeting of the national council of PD which today is expected to elect the members of the presidency.
The meeting was opened by the head of the National Council, Edi Paloka, who while congratulating Sali Berisha on returning to the helm of the Democratic Party said that this journey encountered unimaginable difficulties.
“Berisha returned after an intense period and unimaginable difficulties. Today we are in the concluding phase of a colossal work. Among the difficulties that we had neither imagined nor expected, but from something bad something good starts.
In a few months we have held not only 2 assemblies, we also held the assembly of April 30, we also had a referendum for the first time in its history, not only of the DP. We saw only a pair of local elections that were decisive not only for the DP and our internal life, but also showed the Albanians that this DP not only wins but also gives hope to those who had lost hope. Other factors also opposed us in the hope that we would lose, we won and we showed that we are on a path that will lead us to victory. This council will regain the dignity it lost in 8 years, will take on its role, a role it had lost in the past 8 years. Maybe the number of council members was deliberately increased, together we will lead the DP to that point, to victory, because this is what the Democrats expect from us, this is what the whole of Albania expects from the DP. 200 members are present, the quorum has been filled. ” said Paloka.
