Emerson Royal experienced a scary event a few days ago as he emerged from a pub in his hometown, Brazil. It was three o’clock in the morning when the Tottenham player fell from a robber who was armed and could have caused great damage to the defender.
Fortunately, a police officer was found nearby who, although he was out of duty, intervened and injured the perpetrator. Recently, Emerson has spoken about the serious incident while emphasizing that the robber was ready to shoot him with a gun, but at the last moment the footballer managed to push the perpetrator to make possible the intervention of the police officer.
“At that moment, fortunately, God took control of my mind. Because I stayed very calm, I approached the robber telling him to calm down because I would give him what he asked for. When I approached him and noticed his devilish look, I immediately realized that he was not there just to take my watch. As soon as I handed him the watch, he took a step back and loaded his gun and got ready to shoot me. But, at that moment I pushed him and he shot in the air.
He lost his balance and the police intervened. At this point the shooting started, we were about 15 people nearby and thankfully the shooting did not injure anyone. He had a weapon which is not common for a bandit, not even for the police. It was a situation that might have cost me my life, but that would already serve as a lesson to me to be more careful. “Now I have calmed down and left that event behind,” said Emerson Royal./ SuperSport
