Former United States President Donald Trump has called last year’s congressional hearing about that case a “kangaroo trial.”
In his 12-page statement, he said the investigation aims to divert Americans ‘attention from the Democrats’ disastrous rule.
His comments came after a congressional committee held two hearings in which Trump was accused of plotting a coup to stay in power.
The panel also provided details on the divisions that existed between Trump aides, whether to admit his defeat in the election.
Trump supporters entered the Congress building on January 6, 2021, to prevent the certification of Joe Biden’s victory from the ranks of Democrats.
A separate criminal investigation has resulted in more than 800 arrests in almost every US state.
“Seventeen months after the events of January 6, the Democrats are failing to find a solution,” Trump said in a statement.
The Congressional Committee is aiming to show that Trump’s allegations of vote-rigging have led to attacks on the Congress building.
For most of the statement, Trump has reiterated his allegations of vote-rigging in the presidential election.
Since the November 2020 elections, several cases of vote-rigging have been prosecuted, but in none of them has anything been proven in favor of Biden. REL
