More than a year after the murder of the SP exponent in Elbasan Pjerin Xhuvani, police and prosecution experts are reconstructing the crime scheme.
The neighborhood “5 Maji” in Elbasan is blocked today by the police in an attempt to shed light on one of the most sensational crimes which was registered only 4 days before the parliamentary elections of April 2021.
It seems that the reopening of the case comes after the statements of Nuredin Dumani where it is made known that the latter has released new tracks that can shed light on crime.
On April 21, 2021, during an armed clash between two political groups, the doctor Pjerin Xhuvani, then exponent of the Socialist Party, was killed and 4 other people were injured, including a police officer.
After the event, Arbër Papleka, escort of the political leader of the Democratic Party of Elbasan at that time, Gazmend Bardhi, surrendered to the police as the perpetrator of the crime.
Papleka, a former member of Renea, was circulating in Elbasan armed as part of the structure for the protection of the vote, a structure which had been set up by the DP throughout the country.
In his statements after the event, Gazmend Bardhi said that the match between the two groups occurred because in the car where Xhuvani was, identity cards and money that according to him were being used to buy votes were identified.
Bardhi added that the gunfire initially started from Xhuvan’s car while his group defended itself.
