The appeal of the GJKKO decided to allow in force the confiscation of the assets of Gazmend Mahmutaj, the brother of the Democratic MP Kasem Mahmutaj.
“It is communicated in a concise manner that, today, on 15.06.2022, in the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, the decision was announced regarding the case registered with no. 82 act, dated 27.04.2022 registration, on the complaint of the subject GM and relatives, regarding the “Objection to the decision no. 11, dated 22.02.2022 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, which has disposed of the confiscation of some assets ”, where the trial panel of the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, composed of Judges Nertina Kosova, Dhimitër Lara and Daniela Shirka ruled: Leaving in force the decision no. 11, dated 22.02.2022 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime ”according to the announcement.
The decision announced by Judge Etleva Deda counts 22 confiscated assets against the three Mahmutaj brothers, among which are the properties of the deputy Kasem Mahmutaj.
Sources for Top Channel said that MP Kasem Mahmutaj, by court order, transferred two apartments, two plots of land and a vehicle in favor of the state.
Although declared as income from emigration, the court assessed that the assets of Behar, Kasem and Gazmend Mahmutaj are not justified and that there are suspicions stemming from the crime as long as the latter is convicted.
