For 6 days Spain remains under the control of an extraordinary heat wave with temperatures that have reached up to 43 degrees Celsius.
But the heat is not the only problem, mass fires have already started in some parts of the country. The situation is alarming near Baldomar in Catalonia, where the fires have already destroyed more than 500 hectares of forest.
Spain is already experiencing the second heat wave in less than a month. Some Madrid residents say this heat wave is extremely strong for this time of year
“It will get worse every time and it will affect us at every level. On the physical plane, every year I find it harder to cope with the heat, not only at work but also when we try to rest at night. The nights are becoming tropical. “says Esther Sanche.
“Everything that has to do with climate change and how it will get worse worries me, we are doing something wrong and I think nature is warning us. “We never had this heat in June before.”says Mara Marugan.
Scientists say heat waves have become more frequent due to climate change. Over time they are projected to last longer.
