The return of Romelu Lukaku is undoubtedly one of the best news for Inter and its fans, however, the 20-year-old Albanian midfielder, Kristjan Asllani, has taken the stage in these first days of the preparatory phase.
Arriving from Empoli, after a fairly good half-season, the red-and-black midfielder is the bet of the Black and Whites, who have great expectations on him and so far Asllani has fulfilled them best.
In a long interview for DAZN, the 20-year-old midfielder recounted the emotions of the transfer to Inter, the relationships with his teammates and everything related to these first days of the black adventure.
How have the first black days been?
It has been very nice days and everything is going well. The boys have received me very well and I am quite satisfied.
What are the three factors that impressed you the most at Inter?
Sports center. I had never seen such a large and perfectly organized center. Then the players, who I used to see on television and now I play with them. I don’t forget the quality either. The footballers here have a lot of quality.
Who is helping you the most in these early days?
In these first days, not all of us were there, but Danilo D’Ambrossio was undoubtedly the one who stood by me more than others. In general, everyone is helping me integrate. Darmian, Captain Handanovic. Keeping your feet on the ground is the most common advice they give me.
If they ask you to sing at the welcome rite, will you do it?
Eh… I have to.
You had medical visits with Lukaku, meeting him for the first time. What did you say to each other?
It was the first time we met and we talked for about 30 minutes at the medical center. He is also giving me a hand to integrate quickly.
He said you sound like a 27-year-old when you talk. Is it true?
In fact, that’s what everyone tells me. I can’t help but feel pleased when I hear the praises of a great footballer. On the other hand, I am maximally focused on Inter and I accepted immediately, as soon as I heard about the offer.
What is Brozovic’s best quality?
He is very strong with the ball at his feet. I followed him often in last season’s arc, admiring him. Next to him I can improve a lot, I can steal a lot of things.
Has Inzaghi talked to you about the role you will cover on the field?
Not yet, but I can play some midfield roles. Last season at Empoli I played many roles, but most often I played in front of the defense. I’m physically good and I’ve played a lot of matches, so I have to thank coach Andreazzoli and president Corsi for that.
What do you do when you’re not working out?
Nothing, I dedicate myself to my family. I don’t have certain hobbies. I just listen to music. I don’t play either Play Station or Fantacalcio.
What achievement would you be happy with at the end of the season?
I definitely want to win something, but to be honest, I want to win the championship. I chose the number 14 worn by Perisic, who wrote to wish me luck and I was very happy. I actually chose this number because it’s my brother’s birthday.
How do you deal with criticism?
I experience them calmly, without pressure. I am a big critic of myself and I always watch the matches to see where I went wrong and what I need to improve.
How was the moment of signing with Inter?
At first I didn’t believe it, but then when the firm came, it was an incredible emotion for me and my family./Supersport
