Angelina Jolie has managed to win the legal battle against ex-husband Brad Pitt for the Chateau Miraval winery, where they got married in 2014.
The pair took control of the iconic company in 2008 when they moved into the cottage on its vineyard, and Pitt has been trying to get it back ever since.
But Jolie sold her stake to drinks giant Stoli – setting in motion a web of lawsuits in the US, France and Luxembourg between Pitt, Jolie, their respective businesses and various business partners.
In the latest tussle, Jolie’s team sought documents from Pitt, his business manager and his company, Mondo Bongo.
Pitt’s camp has fought for the court to reject Jolie’s request for letters and correspondence.
But on Friday (July 22), a Los Angeles judge said Pitt and his partners must hand them over to opposing lawyers and that they can’t stay until they appeal the ruling.
Sources close to the Maleficent star’s business operation said Page Six that Pitt has left his anger.
“Any rational human being would be happy to have Stoli as a partner in their business. They have top-notch marketing and distribution.” they said, explaining that the firm offers great opportunities to grow the business.
“He just can’t see past his hatred of Jolie.” this source said.
But a source close to Pitt said that not only is Stoli’s deal a no-brainer, but Pitt had turned down an offer to sell Stoli the property while he and Jolie were still married.
The couple, who have six children, split in 2016, having been together since 2005.
