A trawler with 80,000 liters of contraband oil was blocked by the police in Durrës, while the administrator, captain and mechanic were wanted.

The three wanted persons had adjusted a deposit in the trawler for smuggled oil, in order to avoid customs duties, and had anchored the trawler without notice in the area of the former shipyard in the port of Durrës.

Alban Malindi, 38 years old, trawler administrator, Flamur Aliu, 65 years old, trawler captain, and Nuri Xheka, 53 years old, trawler mechanic, all three residents of Durrës.
In addition to the economic and financial anti-crime sector in the Durrës police, the border police, the Durrës customs branch, the Maritime Anti-Smuggling and FSPD Durrës also participated in the first investigative actions.
Under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Durrës Judicial District, the work is continuing for the complete clarification of this illegal activity, the identification and the criminal responsibility of the other citizens involved.
