Troubled weekend for Carlos Sainz, the Spanish driver of Ferrari. The 27-year-old made a mistake in the official tests of the French Grand Prix, and tomorrow he will start from last place!
Sainz was penalized ten positions in free practice on Friday, while today he received the next penalty, after replacing the fourth power unit in his car, writes SuperSport.
The driver from Madrid used an internal combustion engine and a turbocharger, something the FIA does not allow, so tomorrow’s race will start in the mountains for Sainz.
The Formula 1 championship is led by Dutchman Max Verstappen (RedBull) with 208 points. Then comes Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) with 170 points, while the podium is completed by Sergio Perez (Mercedes) with 151 points. Sainz has collected 133 points so far.
