Kashari closed the selection process for the presidents and co-presidents of the Socialist Party of Tirana, after which the new leaders for all the district units are expected to be announced.
The political leader of the Socialist Party, at the same time the chairman of the SP for Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that Kashari and Astiri won the battle with those who prevented the development of the capital.
“Kashari, Astiri, was the place where everyone bet; they said the people there don’t want highways, they don’t want development, they want the party more than their family; they love strife more than peace, they love violence more than love. Today I can say with great pleasure and pride that whoever placed that bet has lost. Kashari is like any other part of Albania. I want work, I want well-being, I want progress, I want things to move forward, I want people to reconcile, I want – like Tirana, home to 144 nationalities – Kashari to be a home for all Albanians, to live in prosperity“, he said.
Veliaj said that Ilir Meta and Sali Berisha want to take us back to the 90s with their ‘divide and rule’ policy.
