The images show the amazing moments when the hand of a brave diver is put under the pressure of the bite of a giant shark, as about 20 such beasts revolve around him on the islands off the coast of Florida in the USA.
An underwater photographer managed to capture moments of tension when his friend tried to remove his hand from the shark’s mouth more than 2 meters long.
29-year-old Tanner Mansell from Florida, and his friend Chang Sien Chin, were swimming off the coast of Nassau, Bahamas when they encountered a herd of sharks and decided to “spend some time with them.”
Chang, originally from Australia, wore metal protective clothing against shark bites, which prevents damage from wild teeth.
While Tanner says he was swimming without protective clothing, photographing from 1.5 meters away, but inside the bait cage, with which the boys are believed to have lured the herd.
“I was not wearing a chain saw. “I was vulnerable but it makes moments like these more exciting for me,” says the young man.
“I was at a time when more than 20 giant sharks were hovering around the bait cage and consequently I was expecting something wonderful to happen. “When I was suddenly photographing my friend Chang pulling his arm out of a shark’s mouth,” Tanner said.
Social media users were fascinated by the images posted and commented that ‘the story could have ended much worse’.
Responding to comments Tanner said: “Moments like these make me feel alive, the adrenaline and intensity were not stifling but with a strong impact.”
“I am in that moment thinking of nothing else happening in the world. I love being with sharks. “All the problems disappear and only you and they remain.”
Tanner says he started his love of water by shooting fish with water rifles but later became obsessed with sharks and documenting his dives turned into a ‘hobby’.
He adds: “The first time I dived with sharks I had not felt so inward for a moment and realized I had to find a way to do it all my life.”
“That’s why I started taking pictures that have now become my only profession,” he added.
