An 11-year-old boy died yesterday from injuries received when the air castle in an Australian school was violently lifted into the air by a sudden wind last week.
Chace Harrison became the sixth victim yesterday of the horrific accident that happened Thursday in the Australian town of Devonport, Tasmania.
“With a heavy heart we confirm that an 11-year-old has lost his life this afternoon,” said Tasmanian Police Commissioner Darren Hine.
“Our thoughts are with his family and all the children who lost their lives in the tragedy.”
Three 12-year-old boys, two 11- and 12-year-old girls, had died earlier in the horrific accident, during the last celebrations of the school year.
Two children still remain in serious condition in hospital while only one injured child has been discharged from the hospital.
The wind that blew raised more than 10 meters above the air castle where the tragic children were playing. More than 30 school children had gathered around her.
The tragedy caused deep anger in the community and across Australia.
People have laid flowers at schools and a charitable fundraising account has reached A $ 1.2 million ($ 900,000).
Authorities in Tasmania said they were investigating the cause of the accident, adding that it could ‘take time’.
