The two largest opposition parties have signed a co-operation agreement today that envisions the formation of a joint government after the elections if they win.
The 13 points of the pact stipulate that the power cake be divided according to the result. Both political forces are committed to bringing Albania out of the crisis, to launching beliefs for membership in the European Union and to stop the emigration of young people.
With his hand on his heart, the head of the SMI Monika Kryemadhi threw the signature of loyalty for Lulzim Basha in the inclusion with the DP in a coalition with the motto “Albania the Winning House”.
The 13-point agreement between PD and LSi envisages the race with two lists of candidates and then the division of power after the elections according to the result they will receive.
The two largest opposition forces are committed to pulling the country out of the economic crisis, to meet the conditions for the opening of membership talks in the European Union. Restoring the rule of law, curbing depopulation, well-paid employment, uncompromising fight against organized crime, prioritizing the reconstruction of damaged housing and ending the critical problem of the COVID-19 pandemic , are some of the commitments of PD and LSI.
“Our joint journey to change Albania begins today. I presented work plans for all directions. No empty promises, work plans. The time has come to unite. “Let’s go from house to house, street to street to bring about change”, said Basha.
Monika Kryemadhi took care to clarify what it means for a left-wing party like the SMI to cooperate with a party from the right-wing spectrum of Albanian politics.
“I know that there are many who will say that the SMI grows at the expense of the left, I want to address this. We as LSI and PD will be two entities, we may have opposition in the future, but we promise that we will find the language of cooperation. We are unified that the country is worse off than it was 8 years ago except for those with close ties to the government. We and the DP are unified with the opinion that Albanians today live worse than before. “Above all, Albanians must have Albania, their home”, said Kryemadhi.
PD and LSI will compete in elections with two lists (PD-AN + LSI).
