A quantity of 138 kg of cannabis sativa was seized by the anti-drug department of Epirus on the road axis that connects Ioannina with Athens in the place called Amfiloqia.
According to Greek police, authorities had information about the transport of narcotics. One of her patrols initially stopped the Albanian citizen who was riding a motorcycle in front of the van with which the narcotics were being transported.
A few minutes later another patrol tried to stop the Greek citizen who was carrying the narcotics in the van, but the latter left quickly and a few kilometers further abandoned the vehicle and ran away.
After several hours of searching, his arrest became possible.
During interrogation, the two detainees said that they had loaded the narcotics at the Albanian-Greek border and would hand it over to other members of the criminal organization of which they belong.
They stated that they would only be paid for transporting the drug and had nothing to do with its trafficking in the Athens narcotics market.
The court decided to leave him in prison indefinitely, while further investigations for the full clarification of this traffic line will be carried out by the anti-drug of Epirus
