UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has strongly condemned the attack on a Ukrainian school, which is thought to have killed at least 60 people.

The governor of Luhansk province, one of the two areas that make up the industrial heart of the east known as the Donbas, said the school in the village of Bilohorivka was engulfed in flames after the bombing. Ambulance crews were able to evacuate 30 people. The Russian bombing also killed two boys, aged 11 and 14, in the neighboring city of Pryvillia. Since leaving Kiev, which it has failed to bring under control, Russia has concentrated its offensive in Donbas, where Moscow-backed separatists have been fighting since 2014 and have occupied several territories.
The Russian army has already continued the battle to take full control of the port city of Mariupol, which has been under relentless attack since the beginning of the war. The offshore Azovstal steel plant is the only part of the city that is not under Russian control.
All the women, children and elderly people who had taken refuge with Ukrainian fighters in the factory were evacuated on Saturday. The bodies that are still inside have refused to surrender; hundreds are believed to be injured.
