The latest US arms package to Ukraine will include over 100 technologically advanced drones worth about $ 800 million.
The new weapons sent there are called “Dron Phoenix” which function as kamikaze aircraft, which will significantly increase the fire of war, although all sides claim to seek peace.
White House spokesman John Kirby said the package included 121 advanced unmanned drones of various sizes, including hand-launched suicide bombers.
The weapons are manufactured by the American group AEVEX in California, which did not give many details of the models and their modes of operation.
Kirby explained that there are “single-use” drones among them, saying: “Models have been rapidly developed by our air force to adapt specifically to the requirements of Ukraine.”
The Phoenix Ghost model can hit targets up to 70 km away.
Reports indicate that smaller drones are difficult to detect and effective for specific types of combat.
Kirby added: “It has combat capabilities similar to the Switchblade model but there are differences regarding the use of the Phoenix Ghost.”
The official declined to comment on whether drones had previously been used on the battlefield, the network writes UNILad
Kirby did not even say what training is required for the Ukrainian forces but said US officials are working with the armed forces there.
